Entryway hooks without drilling
The area by the door is where keys go missing and bags pile up on chairs. A few hooks at the right height fix that, and with a stick-on hook you do not need the landlord's permission to put them up.
What to hang by the door
- Keys and ID cards a single hook at eye level, so they are the last thing you see on the way out.
- Bags and caps a hook rail gives everyone in the house their own hook.
- Coats and umbrellas one hook each, spaced a hand apart so nothing bunches up.
Where to stick them
Entrance walls are usually painted, not tiled. A smooth painted wall works, but keep the load light, because the paint is weaker than the adhesive. For heavier things, use the side of a cupboard, a laminate panel, a glass partition or the back of the door.
Only after keys? See key holders.
Frequently asked questions
Will a stick-on hook hold a loaded bag?
On tile, glass, metal or laminate, yes, within the load stated on the product page. On a painted wall, keep it to light things like keys, caps and an empty tote.
Will it mark the wall when I move out?
On tiles, glass and metal it peels off clean. On painted walls, peel very slowly, because old or weak paint can lift with the pad.
